Through our Project Engineer Career Development Program (PECD), participants can tailor their professional tracks according to personal interests and goals.

Individuals in the PECD program rotate through different practice areas in one of Structural Group’s specialty contracting businesses: Structural Preservation Systems, VSL or Pullman Power. By doing so, individuals become more well-rounded professionals upon completing the program.

The rotation consists of six months to a year in each of these practice areas (rotations may vary by business line): project management, estimating, business development, manufacturing, branch administration and operations, detailing/project coordination, safety as well as engineering and design. Participants typically spend between 36 and 48 months in the program, enabling candidates to explore the wide range of opportunities available within the company.

As a Project Engineer you will assist in:

  • Production rate tracking
  • Client relations
  • Quality control management
  • Engineering and design support
  • Business development

Successful candidates will possess:

  • A degree in engineering (civil, structural, mechanical, geotechnical), construction management, industrial technology, geology or a related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • A positive outlook and a team spirit
